Paola Segovia Zozaya competed at the regional Spanish Spelling competition at Region 20 in San Antonio, TX, on February 10, 2026. Paola successfully advanced through two rounds of competition and made it to the final six!

Our halls came to life yesterday as we cheered on Steven Herrera before he headed out to compete at State!🎺
It was such a special moment watching our students and staff line the halls to celebrate him and send him off with encouragement and Maverick pride!🤘

Cadet Staff Sergeant Rodriguez has distinguished herself as an outstanding Flight Sergeant. She keeps her flight members on track in class and sets the standard for her class members to follow.

Cadet Senior Airman Hafermann has distinguished himself as the Captain of the Academic Bowl team. His leadership has led his team to place in the first round of competition, advancing his team to the next round of competition this month!

Cadet First Lieutenant has distinguished himself by leading his Flight to achieve the "Best Flight" award for the first semester. He pushes his flight to new heights of excellence every day!

26-27 Maverick Cheerleader Information
This winter, five Pearsall High School students competed in a Spanish Spelling Bee. The students were Bryan Enamorado, Julio Flores, Alexander Peralta Hernandez, Shem Rodriguez, and Paola Zozaya Segovia.
1st place went to Paola Zozaya Segovia, who will represent PHS at the Spanish Spelling Bee at Region 20 in San Antonio on Feb 10th!!
