Congratulations to our staff members of the week
Mrs. Ibarra and Mrs. Aguilar
These two educational paraprofessionals support students with significant cognitive, physical, or developmental disabilities by fostering independence in daily living, social interaction, and functional academics. Working under teacher supervision, they implement IEP goals, providing hands-on assistance with personal care (hygiene, feeding) and behavioral support in special education classrooms. Thank for you all that you both do. We appreciate you!

Happy Principal’s Day, Mrs. Bass!
You truly go above and beyond every single day for both your students and staff at Pearsall High School. Your presence on campus is felt everywhere—from the classroom to extracurricular activities—and it means so much to see you supporting PHS in every way possible.
Your open-door policy creates a space where students feel heard, valued, and comfortable, and that speaks volumes about the kind of leader you are. We are incredibly grateful to have you at our campus.
Thank you for everything you do!

Congratulations to our Teacher of the Week
Mrs. Ana Ortiz
Mrs. Ortiz , our life skills teacher goes far beyond academics—she prepares students for real-world success. She creates a supportive and respectful environment where students feel comfortable learning practical skills like communication, decision-making, and problem-solving. Mrs. Ortiz focuses focuses on everyday independence. She teaches things like managing time, handling money, setting goals, and building healthy relationships. She, along with her paraprofessionals model these behaviors themselves, showing students what responsibility, empathy, and self-control look like in action.
They encourage confidence, celebrate progress (big or small), and help students believe in their ability to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
Keep up the great work!

Thank you to AEP for visiting Pearsall High School to demonstrate their remotely operated drones, which they utilize across Texas under a special FAA waiver. This first-of-its-kind system allows drones to fly beyond substation boundaries, capture 360-degree views, live-stream data, and quickly identify faults along power lines, significantly improving inspection efficiency.
AEP operates and maintains the nation’s largest electric transmission system, along with an extensive network of distribution lines to deliver energy to millions of customers across multiple states. AEP is also among the country’s leading electricity producers, with a substantial portfolio of diverse owned and contracted generating capacity.
