Sophomore Adrian Guerra was nominated by his Chemistry Teacher Coach Ledesma becasue he comes into class every day with a positive attitude and works hard during 7th period. He always expresses interest and curiosity in the topics we are covering.
Freshman Izabella Garcia was nominated by Mrs. Sindon because she is a shining example of what it means to be a dedicated learner and a positive member of our classroom community! She approaches every assignment with her best effort, listens carefully, asks meaningful questions, and willingly helps with classroom responsibilities. Her enthusiasm for learning, helpful spirit, and consistently positive attitude make her truly deserving of Student of the Week! Great job, Bella!

David Medellin - David was nominated by Mrs. Rivers because he helped finish a boring and time sensitive class project (erasing pencil marks from a banner!) and did not complain once. He consistently helps in the classroom, and models great attitude and kindness to his classmates.

In Mrs. Sindon’s Biology class, students got hands-on with cell division today! Using Play-Doh and string, students created models of the stages of mitosis, demonstrating how chromosomes move and separate as a cell prepares to divide.
What a fun and engaging way to bring Biology to life and make learning memorable! 🔬🧪

Junior Devyn Rendon was nominated by his Alg. II teacher Miss Guerrero becasuse evyn is a student that looks for the positive. When I asked him why he's always smiling, he said "because life is too short, you gotta enjoy it". When Devyn finishes his work he goes around to as many classmates as he can to help them finish as well. Devyn has been a light in my class!
Sophomore Marcus Gutierrez was nominated by his Geometry teacher Mr. Armenta becasue he is a respectful student who tries his best everyday.
Freshman Rene Escobar (not pictured) was nominated by his Alg. I teacher Mr. Campos becasue he is a great student who always prioritizes work and does what is asked of him with no complaints. Whenever a fellow student is confused with work, Rene always steps in to help the struggling student with the problem showing them step by step. He also contributes to classroom discussion by answering questions during the lesson.

Jozannah Maldonado was nominated by Ms. Acosta because she noticed when students did not understand a concept in Physics class she took the time to explain it in a different way and makes sure they feel comfortable asking for help. Her patience, encouragement, and willingness to help students succeed make a positive difference in the classroom.
Evan Ramirez was nominated by Mrs. Segura becasue Evan is always ready and willing to lend a hand, especially on Fridays when things are hectic. He volunteers to prepare swag items for Maverick fans and fills the ice chest for the cheerleaders. Evan does all of this without hesitation and always volunteers to go the extra mile!

Parents and guardians can refer a student for G/T identification through Friday, October 30. Just request a referral form from your campus office and turn it in by the 30th. G/T assessments will take place November 2–13.
